Sam Thomas – Technical Lead
Sam joined IT Centre in early 2013, having worked for the Treasury and several IT providers in New Zealand and overseas. His role within IT Centre is Technical Lead so he is responsible for product testing and selection as well as architecting solutions for clients and internally.
Sam is a Windows Server expert with numerous Microsoft Certifications to prove it. He has over 21 years’ experience in the IT industry supporting various versions of Windows server, SQL Server, Exchange Server and Sharepoint Server. He also boasts many years of experience in virtualisation technologies and Windows Desktop. And he has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours).
Sam excels at working alongside clients to determine business requirements, before producing a technical solution. He gets a particular buzz out of resolving unusual IT problems. One of Sam’s recent projects involved designing and implementing Office 365 and Cloud file storage for LMAC International – which saw him oversee migration of a team of 20 mobile consultants around New Zealand and the UK.
Sam is a native of Fiordland, hailing originally from Te Anau.
